STRENGTHENING AND CONSERVATION OF RPPN FAZENDA ALMAS/PB, THROUGH IMPLEMENTATION OF ITS MANAGEMENT PLAN

This project is financed by Fundação Grupo Boticário lasting until February 2019 and aiming at strengthening the reserve management and to guarantee environmental control and biodiversity conservation. It also supports research on the Jacu (Penelope jacucaca), endangered bird species of the Caatinga.

PROJECT CONSOLIDATION AND CONSERVATION OF RPPN FAZENDA ALMAS, PARAIBA

 

This project, which is supported by the Brazilian Biodiversity Fund (FUNBIO) through contract no. 02/2012, has as its main aim the consolidation of the management operations and conservation work at the Fazenda Almas nature reserve, contributing towards its sustainability and its socio-environmental role in the surrounding region.  Other points to be worked on are:

 

• Drawing up of the management plan and the project for long-term sustainability of the RPPN.

• Building of public awareness; engagement of the local and regional population in conservation of the Caatinga biome and, more specifically, the RPPN.

• Planning of regular supervisory actions to ensure the adequacy of biodiversity conservation in the RPPN.

•  Reinforcement of the infrastructure of the RPPN.
